Colombia: The first green coffee milling machine powered by solar energy

Syphax became a leader in renewable energy coffee exports when its solar plant opened in 2018. This plant allowed Syphax to produce coffee using renewable energy sources.

People now know more about why using other kinds of energy is vital. Solar energy is a great way to help Earth. It keeps lots of CO₂ from going into the air. This project has stopped tons of CO₂ from being released. This is like planting 2,706 big trees.

Yet, Colombia does not have many solar plants. By 2021, there were just 122 projects. But, this number is growing. Syphax is Colombia’s biggest exporter of Arabica coffee. Celsia is an energy company. They teamed up to make a solar-powered coffee machine in Huila.

This solar plant opened in 2018. The goal was to use green energy. Syphax also wanted to be the first to export coffee made with such energy.
